Pachchakkhan

Porisi

Abstaining until the first prahar of the day has passed. The word derives from prahar, a quarter of the daylight period.

How the time is derived

The time depends on the length of the day, so it shifts daily rather than falling at a fixed clock time.

Example — 09:22 at Ladnun on 10 September.

Times are derived from sunrise and sunset using the commonly cited Śvetāmbara reckoning. Confirm against your own panchang or teacher.

The paath texts are not published here yet. They will be added only from an authenticated Terapanth source.
