Sri Kalugani was eight Acharya of Terapanth. He was appointed by Acharya Dalchandji at Bidasar in V.S. 1966.

He was born on Friday, 15 th February, 1877 at Chhapar, Rajasthan. His father’s name was Sri Mulchandji Chopra and mother’s name was Smt. Chogaji.

At the time of Kalugani’s birth Jayacharya, fourth Acharya of Terapanth and Yuvacharya Maghraj was at Bidasar just twelve kilometer away from Chhapar. His birth was so auspicious that Shri Nagrajji Bengani of Bidasar got the premonition of arrival of great soul on the earth and announced during Acharya’s sermon that some one has born in near vicinity who will become very effective Acharya of Terapanth. At very young age of one year Sri Kalugani lost his father.

This unexpected event changed the family forever. Whole family moved very close to Sangh. At the age of ten years Sri Kalugani along with mother Smt.

Chogaji and his cousin Smt. Kankanwarji embraced sainthood from Acharya Maghraj, fifth Acharya of Terapanth, on Wednesday, 20 th September 1887 at Bidasar, Rajasthan.
