Verse 3
॥3॥बुद्ध्या विनापि विबुधार्चित-पाद-पीठ स्तोतुं समुद्यत-मतिर्विगत-त्रपोऽहम् । बालं विहाय जल-संस्थित-मिन्दु-बिम्ब- मन्यः क इच्छति जनः सहसा ग्रहीतुम् ॥३॥
My desire to praise Thee is insolence, using various expressions sheer ignorance. No wise man would catch the reflection of moon in water — a childish action.
buddhyā vināpi vibudhārcita-pādapīṭha stotuṃ samudyata-matir vigatatrapo'ham । bālaṃ vihāya jalasaṃsthitam indubimba- manyaḥ ka icchati janaḥ sahasā grahītum ॥3॥

हे देवताओं द्वारा पूजित पाद-पीठ वाले! बुद्धि के बिना भी स्तुति करने को उद्यत मैं निर्लज्ज हूँ। बालक को छोड़कर और कौन मनुष्य जल में प्रतिबिम्बित चन्द्र-बिम्ब को सहसा पकड़ना चाहेगा?
